Array Length Constraint Violation
Q-1-13 — Array Length Constraint Violation
An array has too few or too many items for the schema’s length constraint.
What this means
A schema can require that an array contain at least N items, at most M items, or both. This error fires when your array is outside that allowed range.
The terminal message names the actual length and the bound that was violated — either “less than minimum N” or “greater than maximum M”. Inspect both numbers when diagnosing.
Why this happens
Two typical situations:
- An empty array where the schema requires at least one item.
Defining a configuration block (such as
navbar.left) but leaving its contents list empty. - An over-long array. Less common; usually appears when a schema is being strict about a slot intended to hold one or two entries.
How to fix
If the bound is a minimum, add the missing items. The schema description for the property should explain what each item represents.
If the bound is a maximum, remove items, or check whether the content belongs in this property at all — sometimes a long array is a signal that the configuration is in the wrong shape (for example, a flat list that wants to be nested into sub-groups).
