Plot Rendered With Warnings
Q-19-3 — Plot Rendered With Warnings
A hephaestus plot document was rendered to SVG, but some of its features could not be expressed exactly.
What this means
Quarto rendered the plot document to SVG and the page shows it, but hephaestus’s SVG backend reported that some part of the scene has no exact SVG equivalent and was approximated or skipped. The message lists each warning the backend raised.
Why this happens
The SVG backend aims at editable output — text stays text, links stay links — and a few things a rasterizer can draw have no faithful vector form: certain blend modes and compositing operations, some image sampling modes, and raster images when the build cannot decode their format.
How to fix
Usually nothing: the rendered plot is still correct in every respect the warning does not name. If the degraded feature matters, change the plot to avoid it, or export a raster image from the program that produced the document and reference that instead.
