Q-2-16 — Unclosed Superscript

A ^superscript^ run opens with ^ but no closing ^ appears before the end of the block.

What this means

Caret-delimited superscript (^text^) must be balanced inside the same block. This error fires when an opening ^ appears without a matching close.

Why this happens

A typo, or a literal ^ (in mathematical notation, for instance) that the parser took as a superscript opener.

How to fix

Add the closing ^. For literal carets in prose, escape with a backslash:

The expression \^2 (literal caret).

For mathematical exponents, use inline math ($x^2$) rather than markdown superscript.
