A double-quoted construct opens with
"but no closing"appears before the end of the block.
What this means
Quarto markdown recognizes "…" as a typographic double-quote
pair when the quotes are balanced within a block. This error
fires when an opening " has no matching close.
Why this happens
A missed closing quote in a hand-written passage, or a passage where the closing quote was deleted by an edit but the opener left behind.
How to fix
Add the closing " at the intended end, or escape literal
double quotes that the parser is mis-reading:
