An editorial-delete span opens with
[--but no closing]appears before the end of the block.
What this means
The editorial-delete form [--struck-out text] is part of
Quarto’s tracked-change markup family. This error fires when the
opener [-- appears without a matching ].
Why this happens
A deleted closing bracket, or a literal [-- in text that the
parser took as an editorial opener.
How to fix
Add the closing ]. If the bracketed text was not meant as an
editorial mark, escape the bracket: \[--text].
