Q-3-11 — Fenced Note Definition Not Supported

Fenced note definitions cannot be rendered in this output format because content coalescing is not yet implemented.

What this means

A fenced note definition is the multi-paragraph form of a footnote: the body lives inside a fenced block attached to the note reference, rather than on a single line after [^id]:.

The writer for this output format does not yet coalesce note content back into the reference location, so it cannot place the fenced body where the reader expects to see it. The error fires once per orphan definition.

Why this happens

Your document uses the fenced form for one or more footnotes and the selected output format does not yet support coalescing.

How to fix

If the note body is short enough, rewrite it as an inline footnote (text^[body]). If the body is genuinely multi-paragraph, switch to an output format that supports footnotes (HTML, LaTeX) or split the long note into shorter inline ones.
