Theorem Has No Registered Theorem Type For Its Identifier
Q-20-7 — Theorem Has No Registered Theorem Type For Its Identifier
A theorem-family block’s identifier prefix is a recognized cross-reference type, but not one registered as a theorem type.
What this means
A theorem, lemma, corollary, or similar block’s identifier (e.g.
#fig-x) starts with a prefix Quarto recognizes as a cross-reference
type in general, but that prefix does not belong to the theorem-type
family the block’s class implies. Quarto 1 would abort the whole render
in this situation; the pandoc-leg shim instead renders the block as a
plain, unstyled div without theorem numbering, so the document still
builds. Any @ref to that block will not resolve to a number, since
none was assigned.
Why this happens
- A theorem-family div’s identifier accidentally used another
cross-reference family’s prefix (for example a figure prefix like
fig-) instead of a theorem prefix. - The block’s class (
.theorem,.lemma,.corollary, and similar) does not match the cross-reference family its identifier’s prefix actually belongs to.
How to fix
Give the block an identifier prefix registered as a theorem type (for
example thm-, lem-, cor-, def-, exm-, exr-), matching the
theorem-family class you used, or change the class to match whichever
cross-reference family the identifier’s prefix actually belongs to.
