Q-2-34 — Unquoted Shortcode Parameter Starting with Digit
A shortcode parameter value that starts with a digit must be quoted.
What this means
Shortcode parameter parsing uses leading-digit as a hint about whether a value is a number or a string. Values that begin with a digit but contain non-numeric characters are ambiguous, so Quarto requires them to be quoted explicitly.
Why this happens
A version string, an identifier, or a mixed-format token that starts with a digit:
{{< a k=1b >}}
1b is neither a clean number nor an obvious string — Quarto
asks the author to disambiguate.
How to fix
Wrap the value in double quotes:
{{< a k="1b" >}}
Example
{{< a k=1b >}}
