Q-2-19 — Unclosed Editorial Insert
An editorial-insert span opens with
[++but no closing]appears before the end of the block.
What this means
Quarto markdown supports an editorial-markup family for tracked
changes: [++inserted text] for insertions, [--deleted text]
for deletions, [>>highlighted] for highlights, and
[!!comment] for editorial comments. This error fires when the
insert form [++ ... is opened but never closed.
Why this happens
Most often the closing ] was deleted in an edit, or a literal
[++ somehow ended up in text without an editorial intent.
How to fix
Add the closing ] at the intended end of the inserted text.
If the construct was not intended as editorial markup, escape the
opening bracket: \[++text].
