The import failed because of a problem in the importer itself: the converter’s output could not be read, an image had no manifest entry, or the converter’s host rejected the request.

What this means

Something that should always hold did not: pandoc’s JSON could not be read, an image link pointed at a file the media manifest doesn’t list, the qmd could not be written, or the converter’s host refused the request.

Why this happens

  • A bug in the importer.
  • A browser or converter version mismatch.

How to fix

Try the import again. If it keeps failing, report it with the document if you can share it.
